Ruby Diamond Foundation
The Ruby Diamond Foundation, was established by Miss Diamond, a benefactor of Florida State University and Jewish organizations locally and around the world. In Fiscal Year 2020, the Ruby Diamond Foundation provided essential support for FSU Hillel’s student wellness programs including our Matzoh Ball Soup deliveries. Miss Diamond’s intention to perpetuate her lifelong commitment to charitable organizations has resulted, since 1983, in nearly $4,000,000 in gifts to various charities. Hillel at FSU is grateful to be a recipient of her generosity.
Individual Donors
While generous allocations from the Federations within Florida and grants from Hillel International ensure our existence at FSU, it is the gifts both large and small from parents, friends, faculty, alumni, and community members that enable Hillel at FSU to grow and to thrive. We especially appreciate the Block Family for their annual support. It was the generosity of Al and Evelyn Block which provided the support needed to establish our former home at the corner of Woodward and W. Pensacola in the Al and Evelyn Block Jewish Student Center.
Because of on-going support we now enjoy our new building, built in 2014 in the same block but on the corner of Woodward and W. St. Augustine Street. Come by for a visit!

We are grateful to the local federation for their on-going support Hillel at FSU. As the local federation they see first hand the work that Hillel at FSU can accomplish with your help. Please reach out to them at this link.
Hillel at FSU Community Board
The Community Board is comprised of parents, alumni, faculty and friends who provide oversight, funding and resources to support the operations of Hillel at FSU. If you are interested in joining the Board, please contact Dan Lesham, Executive Director, Hillel at FSU or Les Adler, Board President, Hillel at FSU.
Parents’ Leadership Circle
In recent years, Hillel at FSU has been challenged to grow to serve the nearly 4,000 Jewish students at Florida State University. Hillel at FSU has established the four giving circles for Parents – most popular are the Garnet and Gold — FSU’s school colors. Donations to the PLCs provide much needed income for Hillel as well as providing gifts such as t-shirts, holiday dinner tickets and other delights for your students. You can read more about it here or contact Dan Leshem, Executive Director, for more information.
Alumni Leadership Circle
It is estimated that Florida State University has graduated over 50,000 Jewish students — probably many, many more– since the time of Miss Ruby Diamond back at the turn of the last century. Can you image how strong Jewish life at FSU will be when we reach 25% of our alums donating just $25 a year?
We are grateful to our alumni for their support and hope that others will follow their example. You can read more about it here or , contact Dan Lesham, Executive Director, for more information.
With Appreciation
Hillel at FSU gratefully acknowledges those who’ve nurtured Jewish life at FSU. In addition to the generous support of Jewish Federations in the state of Florida and Hillel International, we deeply appreciate organizations, individual donors and numerous others whose gifts and in-kind donations sustain the programs of Hillel at FSU. Without this support, we would not be able to ensure the range of Jewish expression found at Florida State University today.
